Liquid Cooling Distribution Units (CDUs) to manage coolant circulation, pressure, and temperature control

 Project Location

Project Overview

In 2017, BeeHe partnered with the National Meteorological Administration of China to deploy the country's first liquid-cooled data center, supporting large-scale meteorological data processing and scientific modeling. The project marked a major milestone in the adoption of liquid cooling technologies within government and research computing environments in China.

The data center was designed to support high-density compute workloads with continuous operation requirements, where thermal stability and long-term reliability were critical.

Technical Challenges

1

High and sustained computational loads driven by meteorological modeling and forecasting

2

Requirement for year-round stable operation with minimal maintenance disruption

3

Need to significantly improve energy efficiency compared to conventional air-cooled data centers

4

Limited tolerance for system downtime due to mission-critical workloads

BeeHe Solution

BeeHe delivered a cold plate–based direct-to-chip liquid cooling solution, designed to efficiently remove heat from high-power processors while integrating with the facility's existing infrastructure.

Cold plates optimized for CPU and accelerator thermal management

Integrated liquid cooling pipework engineered for long-term reliability

Seamless interface with the facility's primary cooling infrastructure

Commissioning & Operation

A comprehensive commissioning process was conducted to validate system performance under full operational load. Following acceptance, the liquid cooling system entered continuous operation and has since demonstrated exceptional stability. As of today, the system has been operating continuously and reliably for over seven years, underscoring the robustness of BeeHe's engineering and system design.
